Caroline Ellis left her first radio show, Joanna Taylor’s Fashion Flashes, in 1936 to record the transcribed series The Travels of Mary Ward for Montgomery Ward. Very much a re-skinning of Fashion Flashes, 170 episodes in total were recorded in 1936. This remains Ellis’ most accessible program for modern old-time radio fans and historians. This ad was featured in numerous newspapers.
